GENERAL:
Resplendent Chests will now operate similarly to Elite packs in Inferno difficulty:
· When players open a Resplendent Chest, they will receive a reward based on how many Nephalem Valor stacks they have active at the time
· Opening a Resplendent Chest will grant one stack of Nephalem Valor
· Major in-game events will now grant one stack of Nephalem Valor when completed by a level 60 character in Inferno difficulty
· If completed in a multiplayer game, all eligible characters in the party will receive the buff regardless of whether they participated in the event or were close to the event's location
· Major in-game events in Inferno difficulty that involve a special chest or Unique monster will now also drop additional loot for every stack of Nephalem Valor a player has active at the time of the event’s completion
· Several events have had Unique monsters added to them for this purpose
· Experience Shrines can now appear in Inferno difficulty
Two new shrines have been added to all difficulty levels:
· Empowered Shrine – Increased resource regeneration and reduced cooldowns
· Fleeting Shrine – Increased movement speed and pickup radius
· Followers, pets, and summoned creatures will no longer attack enemies that are in an idle state unless the player is within 10 yards of the enemy (note: Hydra heads and Sentry turrets are not affected by this change)
· The Watch Tower spawn has been moved from the Northern Highlands to the Southern Highlands
The reduction of snare effects against Elite monsters has been reduced (in the player’s favor):
· Normal: 20% to 0%
· Nightmare: 30% to 15%

AUCTION HOUSE:
· Search parameters will now save when switching between the gold and real-money auction house
· An option to display Auction House toasts including sales and expirations has been added to the Social options menu
· Players can now search for +Damage on off-hand items
User Interface:
· An additional sortable column has been added which will allow players to sort returned results by one of their indicated Preferred Stats
· To switch between Preferred Stats, right-click on the column and choose from the available drop-down menu
· The Preferred Stat list is now sorted alphabetically
· An "X"-out button has been added to allow players to quickly reset individual Preferred Stat filters
· A "Search for Similar" option has been added for items in the Sell tab

Sand Shark AI has been improved:
· Sand Sharks can now use an “Under Sand Attack” while burrowed, which causes the Sand Shark to charge to the player and do a 10-yard radius earthquake-like attack for low damage
· Sand Sharks can now walk toward you while above ground, which gives players more time to DPS them
· Skeleton Fire Mage fire pools, Wood Wraith spore clouds, and Oppressor fire breath attacks should now do reduced damages to pets and followers

New System:
· Paragon Patch 1.0.4 introduces a new max-level progression system called Paragon. When a hero reaches level 60, experience earned will begin to count toward Paragon levels. There are 100 Paragon levels in total, and each level will reward players with a permanent bonus to Gold Find and Magic Find as well as core stat increases (Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, and Vitality). For every 10 Paragon levels, players will also earn a new hero portrait border which will display in the in-game party frame. This border will not only become more impressive as you level up, it will also display your Paragon level in any place where your normal hero level is shown.
Legendary Item Improvements:
· Significant changes have been made to Legendary items to make them more powerful, more memorable, and ultimately more fun to use. Through the addition of spell procs, many Legendary items now have a chance to activate rare and unique abilities, such as summoning an angel to fight with you, conjuring an icy projectile, or igniting the very ground you walk on. Legendary items in 1.0.4 are also far and away more powerful, possessing higher damage and affix values than their predecessors. In addition, many Legendary items have had visual effects added to their original models, giving them a distinct and detailed flair. (Please note that these changes will only impact Legendary items that drop after the patch 1.0.4.)
Game Difficulty:
· A large number of changes have been made to the game's difficulty to support the intent of playing efficiently, rather than overcoming an obstacle. The difficulty gap between normal monsters and Rare and Champion packs has been reduced, and drops from normal monsters has been increased substantially to compensate. The enrage timers and "heal to full" mechanic of Rare and Champion packs have also been removed, and we've lowered repair costs of high end items by approximately 25%. Additionally, a wide and varied number of class buffs have been made to help promote build diversity.
General:
· New System added: Paragon Levels
· After a player reaches level 60, killing monsters and completing combat challenge streaks (Killing Blow, Massacre, etc) will begin to award experience towards Paragon levels
· There are 100 total Paragon levels to be earned
Each Paragon level will reward you with:
· Core stats such as Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, and Vitality in amounts similar to what you'd gain from a normal level
· 3% Magic Find and 3% Gold Find
· In addition, a distinctive border will surround your character portrait in the in-game party frame to denote your Paragon progression, with a new frame earned after every ten levels. Your Paragon level will also be visible to other players wherever your normal level is shown.
· Pets with passive life regeneration (most notably Followers, Zombie Dogs, and Gargantuans) have had their life regeneration greatly increased from levels 30-60
· Nephalem Valor now grants +15% Bonus Experience per stack, as well as +15% to Magic Find and Gold Find
· Magic Find will now cap at 300% (Nephalem Valor bonuses will still stack beyond this cap)
· Magic Find is no longer averaged among all players in a multiplayer game
· Players can now disable or enable music in the Sound Options
· Additional Sound Options including Sound Output and Speaker Setup has been added
· A new tutorial about "Elective Mode" will now appear when a player enters Nightmare, Hell, or Inferno difficulty for the first time
Achievements:

Summoned Creatures:
· Creatures summoned by Legendary item procs should now follow the player or Follower with the item equipped
· Creatures summoned by Legendary item procs should now have combat awareness similar to Followers

Vendors:

· Nightmarish monsters will now make players immune to Fear for 6 seconds after the Fear is cast on the player

Weapons and Armor:
· "Balanced" superior items (i.e. Balanced Short Sword) will now grant a percent attack speed increase that only affects the weapon itself, rather than a flat increase to attacks per second that affected both equipped weapons when dual-wielding
· Crowd Control Reduction from items and skills will now reduce the percentage value of Slow, Chill, and Attack Speed debuffs rather than reducing how long the debuff lasts
· For example: previously, if you were debuffed by a 60% slow that lasted for 2 seconds while wearing gear that provides 20% Crowd Control Reduction, your movement speed would be reduced by 60%, but only for 1.6 seconds. Now, the same amount of Crowd Control Reduction will reduce the Slow effect to 48%, but the effect will remain for the full 2 second duration.
· Manticore now has one additional bonus affix
User Interface:
· Minimum damage and Maximum damage values will now display separately in an item's tooltip (i.e. "+2-4 Damage" will now display as "+2 Minimum Damage” and “+2 Maximum Damage")
· Tooltips for items on the ground will now show comparison stats
· Resist values will now be taken into effect when calculating the Protection comparison stat (the Protection value is an average protection estimate of all your resists)
· When comparing a two-handed weapon against two currently-equipped one-handed weapons, the game will now simulate the removal of both one-handed weapons (instead of simply removing the main-hand weapon, which resulted in an inaccurate comparison)
· When selling items to a vendor, the most recently sold items will now always display at the bottom of the Buyback tab
Bug Fixes:
· Items level 50 and above will now display their item level in the tooltip
· Damage Over Time (DoT) skills will now properly benefit from items with the +Critical Chance affix
· Legendary items with the +Attack Speed bonus will now correctly provide a bonus to attack speed
· Please note that this fix will only affect new Legendary drops. Existing Legendary items will be addressed in a future patch.
· Players wearing +Life on Kill items should no longer receive a benefit from this affix when "killing" friendly monsters (e.g. when a witch doctor re-summons a Spider Queen while another Spider Queen is still active)
· Fixed a bug with linking items with socketed gems in chat

CRAFTING:
General:
· The gold and material crafting costs for all items level 1-59 have been reduced by 50% to 75%
Blacksmith:
· The gold cost to level the Blacksmith has been reduced by 50%
· The number of Pages of Blacksmithing, Tomes of Blacksmithing, or Tomes of Secrets required to level the Blacksmith has been reduced
· Base levels now require 1 page/tome, down from 5
· Milestone levels now require 2 pages/tomes, down from 5
· The number of Pages of Blacksmithing and Tomes of Blacksmithing required to craft items level 1-59 has been reduced
· Items with 3 affixes no longer require Pages of Blacksmithing or Tomes of Blacksmithing to craft
· The gold cost of crafting items with 4 affixes and 5 affixes (including items in Inferno difficulty) has been reduced

· The experience bar for characters at level cap on a Guest Pass account will now display 0/0 experience. If the account holder upgrades to the full game, their characters will be at 0/41000 experience towards the next level.

· Attempting to cast a skill while spamming the Town Portal hot key will now correctly interrupt the Town Portal cast and animation

Auction House:

· The data displayed in each auction house tab should now properly reset when logging out
General:
· The real-money auction house is now live! To access the real-money auction house, click on the "Auction House" button on the left-hand side of the campaign screen, and then on the button showing your region's currency in the upper right-hand corner of the auction house interface. · If the authentication service is busy, the login checkbox will now wait at "Authenticating Credentials" until a player's login attempt can be processed. As a result, players should no longer encounter Error 37 when logging in.

Bug Fixes:
