The myth of Midas is a fairly popular one, even if it’s just a short story that’s part of a greater work focusing on Greek gods and their endeavors. In short, it’s a classic tale of “careful what you wish for”, and it features a king by the name of Midas who asks for the power to turn things into gold with a simple touch. His greed gets the better of him, on the other hand, because it turned out to be quite difficult to live when everything you touch turns into solid metal, including your food and your daughters.
Midas Gold Plus is a clicker game with a bit more complexity than the average game in the genre, given the fact that there many other things you have to keep an eye on along the way. Hence, idling away is rarely a solution at first, given the fact that you have to build structures, hire champions and participate in special events. Hence, you can come back to the game on a regular basis and still find new things to do.
To begin with, the first thing you have to do is click on rocks in order to turn them into gold, which is obviously not much fun. You can use the gold to build structures, on the other hand, structures that provide you with the means to make money without clicking. It doesn’t take long for your clicks to become useless, and the buildings take quite a while to generate resources.
As mentioned before, there are a few other things you can do, even if takes a long time to gather the necessary gold. Hiring champions allows you to cast spells, which are great when you need a speed boost or various other bonuses to hurry things along. You can also participate in special events every now and again, as well as send your heroes into raids to obtain treasure.
Special items are part of the experience as well, but they are very expensive, so there’s a lot of grinding involved until you manage to purchase one. Granted, you also have in-game purchases with real money in case you decide to jump a few steps and ignore the grinding aspect. Lastly, don’t expect too much in regards to graphics, but the interface is clean and colorful, and the few pieces of artwork are more than decent as well.
In the end, Midas Gold Plus is a lot more engaging than your average clicker game, but at the end of the day is part of the same crowd, so don’t expect anything too exciting either. Hence, it requires a lot of idling when you reach the endgame, which might be too boring for some people.
