Not much can be said about clicker games when it comes to gameplay, given the fact that it’s as simple as possible in almost every regard. However, the formula can be improved in a variety of ways, as well as designed to provide the players with a challenge. Naturally, this is not usually a demand of the genre, because most people want to relax when they play a clicker game.

Clicker Guild is a fairly simple game with a few interesting ideas when it comes to the mechanics, but don’t expect anything too groundbreaking either. In fact, the basic gameplay is the same as in every clicker game, which means that you have to make full use of your mouse and hire heroes that deal damage for you instead. The differences appear when it comes to these heroes and their items.

Each monster drops either gold or items when it is killed, and these items are randomly generated by the game to be as exciting as possible. You rarely get the same weapon or armor piece twice, but then again there are a few patterns the generator follows, so they are not as unique as they may sound. Thus, the stats may be different, but only every-so-slightly, which can still get repetitive after a while.

Since it gets rather demanding to keep clicking after a while, it’s important to spend your currency by purchasing heroes to fight for you instead. You can get more of them with enough money, even hundreds after enough levels if you’ve got the cash. However, the differences between them resume to how much damage they deal, because everything else is just there for show.

Lastly, the graphics are rarely important in a clicker, but in this case they are fairly nice and colorful. You can tell that the designers put some effort into each monster and background, although it takes a while for the landscape to change, which can be a bit of a bother. Moreover, the animations are very smooth and enjoyable, albeit simple.

Clicker Guild may have some nice ideas to lure you in, but the truth is that very few of these ideas are actually original. The items barely make a difference, regardless of whether they are randomly-generated or not.
