Penguin is a fully featured PGN editor/reader/viewer and desktop board for the analysis and review of games of Chess.
You will be able to use Penguin to store and replay your games and the games of the professionals; to save and edit your move-level analysis; to launch a quick chess board from your desktop.
Games are stored using the PGN and Penguin's ECH game formats. Collections are supported - many lines of play and many games can be held in a game file. Lines of play can be easily managed - deleted or truncated. Navigation between the games of a collection is simple. A representation of the game tree is displayed alongside the game board. A dialog interface allows users to manage the games within a collection. Comments can be added to board positions, and a comment search function is included.
Game can be imported into a collection by pasting FEN or PGN text. GIF/BMP images of board positions can be generated. A handy bookmarking feature is available to hold game positions. A print functionality is also included. User preferences can be set for colours, sizes, fonts and other options. HTMLHelp documentation is included and describes in detail all the functionality.
