PuppetShow: Lightning Strikes Collector's Edition

PuppetShow: Lightning Strikes Collector's Edition is a hidden object puzzle adventure game where players will have put a stop to a series of strange kidnappings that occurred in Paris, France.

Players will take on the role of a world famous explorer who is brought to the 1888 Paris by an airship. The former chief of police has asked you to look into some interesting phenomenon that have been occurring around the city: flashes of lightning followed by missing young women.

You will have to scour every corner of the city and look for clues regarding the whereabouts of the girls. Once you learn that paranormal objects are being used and the girls are transformed into puppets, you decide to put a stop to the evil as fast as possible. Besides the French ex-police officer, you will gain help from a young boy and a fortune teller.

The gameplay follows the classics, but adds a lot of new elements. The hidden object scenes are integrated in the story and you can choose to view a piece of dialogue or you can view the objects that need to be found. Battles will occur from time to time where you will have to take out monsters that have come to life.

Unlike most of the hidden object games released, this one puts a big accent on the journal/notebook. You will have to arrange your evidence each time a new clue is provided and prove that you are a great detective.

The game looks quite good and it feels even better. The steampunk world that was created brings a sci-fi feel to the game and even is the year is 1888, players will feel like in an alternate reality. The gameplay is not boring at all and the fact that you will constantly have to fight robotic / puppet monsters is a big plus.
