Luxor 3

Luxor 3 is another sphere shooting/matching arcade game that’s built to keep you busy and somewhat entertained for a good couple of hours. It comes with a nice looking visual style that aims to the 3D realm and features several improvements over the two previous titles.

In case you’re not familiar with what happens in Luxor, here’s a short walkthrough. You have a large number of levels ahead and in all of them you need to do the same thing: make sure that a row of rolling spheres doesn’t reach a pyramid. There’s a little scarab pushing a long line of spheres along all kinds of paths and using a sphere shooter, you must match three or more of the same color so that they blow up and disappear.

Luxor 3 features some good sound effects and at times it seems as if you’re playing a shoot’em up instead of a match three game. In that regard, gameplay is fun and dynamic, it keeps you connected, at times it can even become intense.

As far as casual games go, Luxor 3 has a lot of levels instored for you. Not that anyone can complain about that, more so since none of them ever look alike. Every new level you face comes with an increase in difficulty so to even things out, you get a large number of powerups, which in the casual game world, are pretty cool. They can also be upgraded.

Luxor 3 definitely has plenty to offer in both level number and game modes. ‘Adventure’, ‘Classic’, ‘Survival’, ‘Onslaught’, ‘Crossing the Nile’, ‘Puzzle’, and ‘Treasure Hunter’, all challenge you to get the big points. And, once again, having a lot to play won’t be an issue.

Luxor 3 is guilty of having repetitive gameplay, but I guess the variety of levels and modes tend to make up for that aspect. None the less, it is an addictive game that’s worth playing if you want to kill some serious time.
