F-22 Lightning 3 Demo
Jet fighters are here to stay, although they have come a long way in the last fifty years or so. Hence, they are now able to reach incredible supersonic speeds and spy on the enemy from very high up in the sky, without giving away their location. Naturally, they are also equipped with a deadly arsenal, which is designed to deal with anything that might put the plane and the pilot in danger.
Level entire cities to the ground in order to achieve your target
F-22 Lightning 3 is a flight sim developed by Novalogic, who are known for their realistic video games in a variety of genres. In this case, the realism only present in certain situations, because the game is certainly not a hardcore flight simulator, given the fact that you only need a handful of keys to operate one of the most complicated planes ever devised. However, there are many things that influence the mission, which can be described as realistic.
To begin with, the game deal with the nuclear weapons these jets are able to carry, which means that the missions involve nukes as well. Hence, you might be required to drop nuclear bombs on a variety of cities around the world, although dogfights are also part of the fun. In fact, the multiplayer mode should be the ideal place for aircraft enthusiasts to go head-to-head against each other.
Pay attention to the weather conditions
Just like in real life, the weather has a major impact on the plane and your ability to keep it under control, especially during storms, strong wind or hail. As such, things get a lot tougher when the weather is not on your side, because you usually get only one shot at hitting your target. Thankfully, there is an auto-pilot as well, in case you want to let the computer do most of the work and basically fly the plane for you.
Visually, you must remember that the game came out a long time ago, so the technology it features is much older and more primitive than what we have today. Hence, the textures and the 3D models are very simple and crude, not to mention washed out and gritty. On the other hand, you probably won’t have time to pay attention to stuff like that, especially if you have to keep an eye on the controls.
A fun simulator for aircraft enthusiasts
While it may have plenty of flaws, F-22 Lightning 3 is still worthy of a shot, at least if you are curious regarding the plane in question. Otherwise, the poor graphics and the simple flight model might prove to be deal breakers for some.
