Hence, everything is designed to inspire the holiday spirit into the players, with plenty of snowmen and Christmas tree decorations. The chickens are equipped for the occasion as well, sporting the usual red hats and an arsenal of explosive globes.

As far as the actual gameplay is concerned, everything is more or less the same as it ever was in the series. Your task is to defeat wave after wave of chickens, only to go head-to-head with a boss every once in a while. These bosses may be snowmen instead of the usual spaceships, but they act the same and you just have to pick up on their attack pattern in order to defeat them.

Speaking of which, picking up power-ups is as important as ever, given the fact that you are pretty weak without the weapon upgrades. A few other bonuses can be achieved this way, not just additional firepower. Hence, extra lives and bonus points are part of the mix as well, which comes in handy when you are hanging by a thread and every mistake can cost you the game.
