Medieval warfare was quite a sight to watch, especially since back then each culture had its own customs and styles when it came to battle. Thus, a confrontation between two nations was also a clash of different weapons, armors and fighting techniques. Both sides had something to learn from each other, although the victors had it easier in many regards, as it’s only normal.

Tiger Knight: Empire War is an action-packed MMO with MOBA elements and an interesting combat system that requires coordination and quick reflexes. The game is played from a third-person perspective, which makes it much simpler to pay attention to your surroundings and see how your character moves in regards to what’s happening around him.

Each character can wield multiple types of weapons including axes, words, bows and spears, each one of which has its place on the battlefield. Obviously, they all require a different approach, because it’s not the same to swing an axe and to carefully dance with a sword. On top of that, you can also make use of a horse and perform blitz attacks on the infantry, which requires a whole different set of skills.

The different game modes feel a lot like League of Legends or Dota, since it’s two teams of five players going head to head on the battlefield. Each player commands his own little garrison, and you get more and better troops as you manage to level up. Naturally the goal is to obliterate the enemy heroes and accomplish a few other objectives while you are at it.

The combat can be a tad annoying sometimes, mainly because it takes a while to get used to the animations and the weird hitboxes, as well as to the fact that timing is very important. It’s not the most realistic depiction of melee combat, but it’s certainly fun under the right conditions, at least if you give it a chance. The graphics are decent as well, and you can tell that quite a bit of work went into the maps.

In the end, Tiger Knight: Empire War may lack complexity, but it makes up for it in the fun department. Thus, as long as you do not expect realism and challenging mechanics, this can easily keep you busy for many hours.
