Speaking of which, the combat is fairly straightforward, since all you really have to do is click on the enemy and wait for the weapons to fire automatically. By upgrading your arsenal you can deal more damage and attack at a faster rate.

The upgrade options are very extensive, depending on the role you choose for your ship. Weapons, cargo hold and armor upgrades come in a multitude of shapes and sizes, but you need the currency to buy them. This can be achieved by completing missions and trading resources, but since this is a free-to-play title, you can also use real money to speed things up.

In the end, The Infinite Black is more of a trading/strategy game than a space sim, but it features enough complexity to keep you busy for a long time. Thus, everyone can have a good time with it, regardless of whether you are a veteran or a newcomer to the genre.
