Strife

MOBAs have come a very long way in the last five years and their numbers have grown to the point where any fan of the genre can find exactly what he or she is looking for. Strife is a MOBA that comes to deliver a new palette of unique heroes that are ready to battle each other in an arena that fuses elements from other similar games.

Strife follows the gameplay pattern from the popular MOBAs. You are part of a five-man team that has the task of destroying the enemy base by pushing towers on three lanes. Each hero has a set of unique abilities that must be used in a team effort to defeat the opposing force and there are several types of items that are meant to enhance a hero’s powers.

Team effort and strategy is crucial in Strife as in all MOBAs. You need to make sure your carries get nice and fat all while maintaining constant push on the towers for map dominance and extra gold. There are also neutral camps with minions that can be killed for extra gold and experience while another hero lanes solo for an increase in experience rate and farm.

Unlike in other MOBAs, Strife allows your hero to march into battle accompanied by one of several very cute pets. The latter are invulnerable in the game so you won’t have to worry about your microing skills and they offer your hero a wide range of bonuses that can make a huge difference to to the game, regardless if its in early, mid or late.

A great thing about the pets is that a hero will not be bound to only one pet. You can switch pets between heroes and experiment with different combinations. Some are ideal for defensive purposes, others can get you out of critical situations while some make things very simple if you want to jungle.

Another plus for Strife is that lane pushing has gotten a bit more interesting. After defeating Cindara, a neutral boss, you get to unleash Krytos on the enemy. He’s one heck of a pushing gorilla that can demolish an enemy tower in the blink of an eye and is a great advantage to have in early game.

Apart from the significant features, Strife also makes life easier when it comes to the little things. Players won’t have to rage when no one buys a courier because here you get one for free every time. Town portal scrolls are removed so you will always have a quick means to get to base in all dire situations.

On a closing note, Strife is a really good MOBA to play. It blends together game mechanics that have made other similar games famous and if it keeps it up with the great graphics and nice little touches, it’s surely going to take off.
