There are lots of new effects: when you equip this weapon you will have a custom electric arc pulse around. It is static energy being drawn towards the beautiful machine in your hands.
When reloading or dropped on the ground the gun will be dull light but the backpack will continue as powerful (for realism). When fired you will see burst of blue rays streak towards your enemy. Solid muzzle flash.
When the beams strike a non-person surface they will make large blue sparks and emit and sizzle with a smoke wisp. the krakkle of electric will be heard.
When shooting a person the beams will scorch and burn that persons' clothes and skin! Leaving a 1st degree mark and flash blue electric and then follow a smoking wisp. satisfying sizzle. When shooting a person (living or dead) there is a small chance for static build-up.
