Warcraft III Reign of Chaos Cursed Maze of Footock Beta Map description
Current map is the 1st of many new maps being tested at this time.
Blizzard introduces a new concept in gaming: the RPS (Role-Playing Strategy) game. A strategy game set heavily within a role-playing environment, RPS takes the individual combat and interactive environments found in role-playing games and combines them within a competitive strategic environment. Warcraft III puts players in command of smaller, potent parties of heroes and troops.
They adventure and do battle in a dynamic world of living towns, wandering monsters, characters and quests, while using devastating atacks and tactics to defeat your enemy.
Here are some key features of "Warcraft III Reign of Chaos":
· One new Hero per race, each possessing powerful spells and magical abilities
· A host of new units, each equipped with new abilities and spells, giving players the opportunity to create diverse strategic and tactical forms of combat
· Player-built shops, unique for each race, equipped with items carefully designed to improve and aid the units of every race
· Neutral Heroes, available for recruitment by all players, that can supplement and strengthen a player's army with all new spells and abilities
· Expanded multiplayer
options over Battle.netŪ including multiple new game types, clan and tournament support
Note: This map is broken into 8 sections. 4 Starting points, 4 NPC points. Each Starting point is surrounded by environmental border to prevent premature ground advancing from other players. Each starting point has 4 to 5 towers pre-made to prevent premature air assaults. 3 of the 4 starting points has 1 food unit created. Each starting point has it's own limitations from tree resources to available land space.
Center of the map is a maze with a mixture of corn and stone. Portions of the maze have breakable points, such as wooden barricades, and cages. There is an entrance to the maze for each starting point of the map, however the gaps for each portion of the map is not proportioned.
EXAMPLE: Red team will be able to have small units enter the maze, however larger units will need to go around the maze to another entrance. For the Red team to do this, the Red team needs to clear wooded areas and take out a army of Troll NPC's to achieve this. The red starting point is compensated by having the largest amount of land space to build units on the map.
In the maze, there is 1 level 7 Cyclops (Fen) that is in the center of the maze. This prevents premature advancing during game play. He guards a magic item where he is stationed. The goal in the beginning of the game is to gather enough forces to take out the Cyclops first before attempting to advance on one another.
During game play, there are 3 other NPC's locations, one I have already mentioned of a troll camp. This troll camp consists of multiple level trolls. They have in there possession 4 different magic items. Near by, there is a gold mine which is not in use. Another group of NPC's gather around a magical Elvin structure. Immediately during game play, theses band of NPC's begin destroying the unit. It is not expected in game play to be used, but to be part of the story of the map. A dragon in one other side lives near by the current ravaged town that one starting point is at. He guards a collection of 5 magic items with a pile of other gems and treasure. This is the home for the Teal team. The Teal team is EXTREMELY CLOSE to this NPC and has very little wood recourses to gather in it's area! Since this starting point has a risky starting point, Teal team has the easiest entry to the maze to relocate portions of it's unit.
