X-Men: The Official Movie Game Demo

Although X-Men started out as a comic book series, it got more and more recognition over the years, going from comic books to animated TV shows, movies, and now a video game. Thus, the mutants have become quite popular, especially since they got portrayed by famous actors on the silver screens, such as Jennifer Lawrence, Hugh Jackman and Michael Fassbender.

X-Men: The Official Movie Game allows you to personally take part in the events pictured in the movie and play with multiple characters throughout a wide variety of interesting missions. Beside Wolverine, you can also confuse the enemies by playing with the illusive Nightcrawler, or freeze them to death with the use of Iceman's superpowers.

Naturally, each time you switch characters, the gameplay changes as well, since they have different fighting styles and abilities. While Wolverine might be comfortable with taking a few bullets every now and then, thanks to his superhuman regeneration and the unbreakable Adamantium bones, Nightcrawler is nowhere near as resistant to damage and he goes to great lengths in order to avoid being shot.

To keep the comic book atmosphere intact, the game uses some very nicely drawn static images to create intense cutscenes, which act as ways to advance the plot and explain the events, before you are thrown into the middle of the action. The actual graphic engine is pretty good as well, although it is not nearly as artistic and expressive as the hand-drawn intermissions.

Another great thing about this title is the fact that every actor from the movie borrowed their voice to the game as well, in order to maintain the high-quality standards. Unfortunately, since the movie did not shine either, the plot is just as silly and uninteresting, which, in truth, should not bother you too much anyway, since the main focus is centered around the action scenes and the mutant superpowers.

Despite the rather left-handed gameplay mechanics and the lack of originality, X-Men: The Official Movie Game gives you plenty of opportunities to enjoy the beloved characters from the movie, as well as take part in some intense fighting sequences over the course of the campaign.
