War Front: Turning Point Singleplayer Demo
A classic real-time strategy that portrays an alternative World War II history and allows you to change the fate of the world #Turning Point #War Front #Real-time strategy #Battles #Epic #War
Although you would think that a conflict lasting approximately six years should not yield more than a couple of books and documentaries, World War II proves you wrong, since there is still new material coming out every year, each one of which presents a slightly different side of it, or entirely changes key elements in order to fake originality. However, it is possible to get something good in the process, so games that are based on it should not be entirely dismissed.
War Front: Turning Point does the exact same thing, although it also takes a stab at fiction along the way and changes a few things in history, to portray a somewhat different outcome. Hence, World War II is not presented in the way history books agree it happened, but rather as an alternative universe where the conflict evolved in a pretty different manner.
For starters, Hitler died a lot sooner than he did in reality, although that certainly did not stop the war from going on, since there were plenty of people eager to continue it even without the man who started it. Moreover, the game story also emphasizes on the curious contraptions that were theorized and almost introduced on the battlefield by both sides, which means that you get to wield a variety of prototypes and weird weapons, most of which are capable of dealing serious damage to anything standing in front of them. Since you are able to play as either the Nazis or the Allies in the campaign mode, as well as the Soviets in multiplayer skirmishes, you can witness some very different approaches to war technology, as well as plenty of fascinating machinery.
Because the title aims to stick to the classic RTS mechanics, as seen in titles like WarCraft and Command & Conquer, the gameplay revolves around your ability to quickly build a base and efficiently gather enough resources to power a sizable army. Instead of gold or mysterious radioactive elements, however, you have to collect oil from specific places around the map, which sort of makes things a bit more realistic.
In order to properly portray the curious inventions and the variety of environments in which the confrontations take place, the game makes use of a powerful graphics engine, capable of managing incredible amounts of detail and convincing special effects to complete the war picture. Thanks to the fact that the environments are in full 3D and the camera is extremely versatile, you can basically pan, rotate or zoom the view in any way you like during gameplay, to get a better look at what happens on the screen.
Despite the fact that War Front: Turning Point does not exactly feature any major flaws that would make it unplayable, it manages to remain as faded as possible all the way through, with nothing too original or catchy to captivate your attention for longer periods of time. Hence, the game can be played and forgotten in a matter of days, which is not exactly a positive characteristic.
