As every little boy knows, trucks are awesome and it’s a blast to drive one around the country, hauling all sorts of interesting cargo. However, the less pleasant parts are not that obvious at first, because you only stumble into them once you actually hop into a truck. As such, the first shock is when you have to park somewhere, since the size of the trailer makes things a lot more difficult than with regular cars.

Trucks and Trailers is a simulator that allows you to practice your parking skills on a truck, by trying to fit large trailers between other cars, or in very uncomfortable angles. The game does not feature any kind of actual driving, because it’s just a couple of short challenges with no actual open map, but the experience should be fun even so. To make matters more interesting, you are rewarded for your efforts with medals.

Even if there is no actual hauling involved, you still get the chance to choose between a few truck models, and it does make a difference during the challenges. In essence, some models may fare better in some situations, although the handling is more or less the same for all of them. The looks are important as well, on the other hand, which is why you might find it more exciting to switch between trucks on a regular basis.

In case you think that the game might be over too soon, you can rest assured knowing that it’s going to take you a considerable amount of time to see and complete all the levels. Not only that, but the replay value is more than decent as well, seeing how you can earn better medals if you score better times. On the other hand, nothing exciting ever happens, so boredom is still an option.

From a technical point of view, the graphics engine is remarkable, at least for a game of this type. Each truck is detailed and designed to feel like a real vehicle, not to mention the fact that there are many camera angles you can make use of to get a better look at your surroundings. The handling is realistic as well, and you need quite a bit of practice to successfully navigate tight spaces.

Even if Trucks and Trailers is not the type of game that lets you roam the highways of the world as you wish, it’s still an enjoyable experience. You get tremendous satisfaction from completing the levels, especially after you get better at it.
