Toilets may not be something people talk about at social gatherings, but everyone has one and nobody can deny their importance. A malfunctioning toilet is not something one just overlooks, which means that they have to be manufactured properly as well. The field is not prone to many technological advancements and it may not be glamorous, but the profits are substantial and the clientele is highly unlikely to go anywhere.

Toilet Tycoon takes matters very seriously and lets you experience the hardships of a toilet company owner, while also providing you with the chance to make some money by designing, manufacturing and selling all kinds of toilets and toilet accessories. As in all tycoon-type games, the end goal is for you to expand your empire as much as possible and defeat the competing companies, which is easier said than done when you are working with ceramic bowls and plastic toilet seats.

In the beginning, you start off with quite a bit of cash and some minimal tools to help you get acquainted with the industry. Your job is to start producing toilets, but it is obviously not as simple as just giving the order to fire up the conveyor belts. You can choose between various designs and appeal to your customers, as well as invest in better components to outsmart the competition.

Speaking of which, the toilet industry is no different from any other business, in the sense that everyone is trying to undermine the rival companies and keep the entire market for themselves. A good product triumphs over any tactic, on the other hand, so you must focus on making sure that you are above the competition when it comes to quality and customer service.

As far as the technical aspect is concerned, there is nothing to stand in awe off, especially since the game is quite old as well. It doesn’t look too bad, though, since the environments are quite small and they contain a lot of detail. Most of the objects are nicely modeled and they can fool the eye, even if the shading is primitive and the textures are not as sharp as they should be.

All things considered, Toilet Tycoon is not a revolutionary game, nor is it something you will remember for more than a few days after you play it. However, you can enjoy it for a few hours and experience something new, given the fact that there are not a lot of other games based on the same idea out there.
