Tibetan Quest: Beyond the World's End is a game that offers investigation fans another chance to prove their sense of observation and piecing evidence together. It’s a hidden object game that follows the story of a woman who sets off to find her missing niece, Larisa, who vanished while on an expedition in Tibet.
Like in all hidden object games, the incursion into the game’s plot is fast and fairly repetitive. After a short cinematic, which is poorly done, you get a letter informing you that your niece has disappeared. You board your first plane to Tibet, and that’s when the adventure starts.
Right from the beginning you will have to find solutions to opening doors and pathways that lead you into the story. Along the way, some challenges will be harder than others because some puzzles are simply complicated, or some of the logic of the game’s design doesn’t quite add up to real-life scenarios. On the other hand, it is a story that takes you into the realm of the supernatural.
For example, why wouldn't an ice pick be the right tool to get something frozen unstuck from a table. Don’t expect too much from Tibetan Quest: Beyond the World's End.
On the gameplay side of things, Tibetan Quest: Beyond the World's End is as standard as can be. What you have to do is obvious in most cases, and when it’s not, it’s not that difficult to figure out. Regardless of the difficulty level you choose, the game plays out the same way but it’s best you opt for the expert mode. Most of the game’s charm lies in the challenge of finding the clues, not putting them together.
From a visual point of view, Tibetan Quest: Beyond the World's End has its fair share of flaws so if you value looks, it might disappoint.
On a closing note, Tibetan Quest: Beyond the World's End feels like a very generic hidden object game. If others strive to offer a good visual experience or puzzles, this one doesn’t really come close to that.
