The Adventures of Fatman Demo
Fatman may lack the constitution of regular superheroes, but he makes up for it in tremendous bursts of wit. #Superhero game #Batman clone #Adventure game #Adventure #Fatman #Point-and-click
Superheroes have it easy, or at least that’s how comic books have you believing. However, in a slightly less perfect world, everyone is capable of mistakes and has some sort of weakness, and it’s almost never kryptonite. Thus, maybe a more relatable superhero would have a lot more success with the public, although perhaps everyone would hate him for not being special enough.
The Adventures of Fatman is a retro point-and-click adventure game, in which the protagonist is some sort of superhero with an eating disorder. Hence, even if he has all the facilities of a superhero, including a secluded cave with a supercomputer in it, all the gadgets you could want, and an awesome fatmobile for when he needs to move fast, he certainly does not inspire the trust you would typically give to someone like Superman.
Despite that, Fatman takes it upon himself to protect the city from bad guys. He’s not very good at it and he mostly puts the situations on hold in order to have a snack, but trouble strikes hard in this episode. Hence, a supervillain by the name of Poisonman is created by some a bunch of evil corporations, who immediately goes on an evil rampage.
As you will notice from the very first few seconds of gameplay, the game plays like any other point-and-click adventure. Thus, your primary goal is to investigate the environments and interact with certain objects in order to solve puzzles. Given the modest appearance of the game, this can turn into quite the pixel hunting fest, which is not exactly a fun activity.
Speaking of which, the graphics look ancient and pixelated, even of the game was actually released somewhere in 2003, when 3D technology was already available and quite advanced. However, the retro look was certainly a good idea, because it brings back a lot of memories for point-and-click adventure veterans, while also having the advantage of being light on the system requirements.
All things considered, The Adventures of Fatman could have done a lot of things better, but it funny enough not to take itself too serious in any case. Thus, if you are in the mood for a classic point-and-click adventure and you are tired of replaying the classics, this can very well be the solution to your problems.
