A great looking first-person puzzle game that will definitely challenge your logical thinking. #Solve puzzle #Talos Principle #First-person puzzle #Puzzle #Talos #Philosophy
Puzzle games are great when they’re challenging to solve, or when they introduce new mechanics that test logical thinking. And they are really great when they have an intriguing story behind which would actually alter its course depending on the way you solve the puzzles. Well, all of that can be found in The Talos Principle.
It goes without saying that if you want to really feel the challenge of solving a puzzle you have to be connected to it. The Talos Principle does something even better, it submerges you into a beautiful looking world where nothing makes sense at first, where you are actually part of the puzzle and have a lot of questions to find answers to.
Another great thing about it is that unlike most puzzle games, where you finish a level and then move on to the next, in The Talos Principle, whoever brought you to that place also left you that thing called free will. You can explore the world around you, choose the puzzle you want to solve and even obtain some information from a computer terminal.
No matter how much you look around, at first, nothing is concise, clear, or even remotely helpful to you in figuring out what’s going on. However, after you finish your first puzzle and hear the omnipresent voice of your Maker, things start to get really interesting and you suddenly have the right kind of incentive to take the game seriously, in the fun way, of course.
The Talos Principle has a certain depth to it that can't’ really be explained and then see it become true for every one that plays it. The open-world feature, the design of the environment, the short ‘chats’ you have and everything else, can trigger a different thought process for each player and for a game to do that, it’s just wonderful.
As far as the puzzles go, they are going to be some of the most challenging you have yet to face. They’re clever and simple in design but require a good dose of logical thinking and a keen sense of observation. They might take you a bit of time to figure out and because of that you’ll wonder around the map a great deal, looking for clues and hints.
After the first time you make contact with the Maker’s voice, you will know that from that point on someone is clearly watching your every move. It’s up to you to find out if you’re part of a bigger picture or plan you can’t comprehend, or merely a lab rat in a gorgeous testing area.
