Tanks changed the way wars are fought, and they even forced generals to come up with new strategies in order to deal with them. Germany utilized tanks to their full potential during the second World War, and they were especially useful in blitzkrieg attacks. As far as video games are concerned, there are many titles out there that try to do them justice, but they are sometimes too complicated for most gamers.

TankZone Battle is a much more approachable portrayal of tank action, since it allows the players to have fun with them and refine their skills at the same time. The game is exclusively multiplayer, which means that everything depends on how many players there are online at any given time. This may prove to be a bit of an issue at the moment, but it should take a turn for the better once the word spreads.

You can either create a server or join an already existing one, depending on your preferences. There are no different modes per se, but you can choose to play 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 or 4v4 matches. The more players on the map at the same time, the more chaotic the action gets, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. In fact, it’s actually quite fun to never know from which direction a shell could pay you a visit.

At the beginning of each round, you are allowed to visit the store and use the money you made killing enemies to purchase better weapons or a few other gimmicks. Bigger and better cannons are available in multiple calibers, but you can also buy special items, such as bush camouflage that allows you to blend with the environment and strike when the target least expects it.

As far as the visual quality is concerned, the game uses Unity as its graphics engine, so it certainly looks decent. The third-person point of view can be a little awkward at first, especially since there is no crosshair. Given the fact that you cannot adjust the cannons on the vertical axis anyway, it’s all about learning how to time your shots properly, so it may take a while.

Right now, TankZone Battle is a bit too empty to be fun all the time, and it also needs some improvements in the gameplay department. However, this could turn into quite a hit with the crowds, especially since the game requires a lot of skill to be played properly.
