Tachyon Project

Twin stick shooters are always fun to play, and they’re even more so when the gameplay is well-designed. Tachyon Project is a title that’s in the works and promises a good deal of shoot’em up depth.

Just so you know, the demo won’t let you pass the first level but you can play it for as long as you like, or more accurately, for as long as you have time by your side. Tachyon Project provides three challenges and in each one, you’ll have to shoot against the clock.

One mode enables you to gain time by destroying enemies, and that’s calculated in regard to how fast you take them down. Move slowly and time will fly by, leaving you without the chance to see what the game has instored for you later on.

It’s quite rare that you feel the pressure in a twin-stick shooter the way you feel it in Tachyon Project. The good part is that it’s well-balanced between being tough as nails and allowing the player to breath. If you like action arcade games, this one is a safe bet.

Tachyon Project features the core mechanics of dual stick shooters. You control the ship with one stick and shoot with the other, and that’s that, almost. In this arcader, you get a large number of perks and skills to upgrade as you advance into the game.

This is a very good feature to have since it boosts replayability value and makes the player think in advance about what weapons systems are best used against certain enemies or groups of them.

On a closing note, Tachyon Project shows a lot of promise. It’s fast, you won’t get bored, there is diversity and depth to it and most of all, it’s fun to play.
