Systematic Immunity Demo

Systematic Immunity is a rather cute platformer in which the action takes place inside the human body and your ‘character’ is actually a well oiled team of smiling white blood cells. The game aims to challenge you across some pretty tough but short levels all while also teaching you a thing or two about the human body.

Having a group of characters instead of one might not make any sense at first but for how things play out in Systematic Immunity, it’s a really good thing. The deal is that you have your alpha white blood cell which you control and the other 19 fellas blindly and trustingly follow it.

Like with any team, there’s always that one guy who gets left behind or slacks off for just a second and ruins everyone’s day. Well, in Systematic Immunity there are more than one such cases and you need to keep them in check. Apart from not making any sudden or ample moves that disperse the participants, you also have to use a key that tells them to regroup.

The catch? A minimum of 15 cells have to survive and regrouping costs. You will often have to make tough decisions regarding when to use it. Often enough you might have to to sacrifice some lazy or under-trained leukocytes for the greater cause.

Systematic Immunity is a nice looking game although a bit of polishing on the models and environment would come a long way. Other than that, gameplay mechanics are well polished and things run smoothly.

After completing each level you get to view an interesting fact about the human body, provided you reach some collectables first, so there’s a bit of learning to it, apart from the fun. You will be in a love/hate relationship with Systematic Immunity at times because it is a precision platformer. What that means is that you either do things perfectly or exactly how they should be done. There’s really not much room for error.

Systematic Immunity is planned to have boss fights, secret levels and multiple types of characters to play as. Consider that and all of the above, add a level editor and you pretty much have a game that’s almost sure to keep you entertained for a long time.
