Surface: Alone in the Mist Collector's Edition is another title in the long line of hidden-object games that spawn on a daily basis. In this one, you play the role of a young girl who has to find out what happened to all the adults from her town.
In Surface: Alone in the Mist Collector's Edition you start like in any other hidden object game, with a short incursion into what happened and what you have to do. Here, the girl wakes up on her 16th birthday to find that her parents and all other adults are missing.
After seeing the apparition of a small girl and other strange things, she, or better yet you, set off to uncover the truth. To do that, you have to go through the several areas of the game and investigate by finding clues and solving puzzles that lead to more clues.
Generally, with hidden object games the major setback comes from bad graphics and animations. In this case, they’re quite good although you can surely expect some of them to be dreadful. For example, the blending of a crow that stands in your front door at the beginning of the game.
However, in ensemble, the game looks OK, and the audio effects and voiceovers are good. When it comes to the puzzles, they’re mixed, challenging with not so challenging. Depending on how experienced you are with games of this sort, you can choose from several difficulty levels, enabling you to really test your sense of observation and memory.
To wrap it up, Surface: Alone in the Mist Collector's Edition is a decent game. It has a nice visual design, most of the effects are nice, and there are a few hours of relaxation to get from it.
