Splasher Demo
Splasher is back to save his brothers from the dreaded Inkorp and then tear it down to little peaces. #Action platformer #Adventure platformer #2D platformer #Platformer #Action #Adventure
Splasher is a great example of a 2D platformer that simply has everything going for it. There’s a nice little story of honor and doing good to backup the action and wonderfully implemented mechanics that make the entire experience challenging and really fun.
You are a splasher who has once escaped the evil Inkorp but unfortunately your brothers were not so lucky. They are still being held prisoners in the confines of the vast conglomerate of metal and no good and it’s your job to rescue them.
Equipped with a clever weapon, you are able to harness the power of water and the unique properties of some paint types to defeat the potato minions, overcome various obstacles and traps and ultimately save your brethren.
Right off the bat, with no need for any particular clarifications, Splasher is a blast to play. It’s that kind of platformer that’s built to be a game you play for the fun and satisfaction of completing each level and overcoming some pretty tricky moments. I mean c’mon, you fight giant potatoes that fly around and use robotic legs, that has to count for something.
Visually, the graphics have the same effect they did in the Worms: Armageddon days. They are simple and make the game look rather harmless but we know how brutal Worms can get and Splasher will be pretty merciless at times. It’s a great combination between form and function that definitely works to its advantage.
The best part about Splasher is the fact that you’ll be quickly swapping weapon ammo to be able to traverse each level. Water can clear up paint and take down enemies, red paint has sticky properties and helps you climb walls and ceilings, while the yellow one enables you to jump higher.
The conclusion about Splasher is simple. Download it, enjoy it (there’s no doubt to that), and then keep an eye out for when it will hit your local digital stores.
NOTE: Splasher is built to work best with a controller. If you have one, use it. If not, then you have to reconfigure the keyboard controllers form the Unity settings window that appears before you launch the game.
