Soldiers of Anarchy Demo
Fight against a mysterious cult in a post-apocalyptic world din this real-time tactics game. #Real-time tactics #Real-time strategy #Zombie invasion #Soldier #Anarchy #RTS
For some reason, surviving an apocalypse seems to be on everyone’s bucket list lately, especially if it involves zombies. Admittedly, there have been more than enough movies, video games and TV shows featuring the undead as a tool to end the modern civilization quickly, which is probably why people everywhere find it fun to imagine losing the entire human race to an army of brain eaters.
Soldiers of Anarchy tells a similar story, only it involves a slightly different course of events when it comes to the apocalypse. However, the game itself is of the real-time tactics variety and it features quite a bit of strategy, which is pretty unusual. Hence, you control a handful of soldiers, and you have to use them at full potential in order to accomplish a variety of objectives.
Story-wise, everything starts with the entire humanity almost being eradicated by an evil cult that somehow manages to get everyone on Earth under control. By hiding in bunkers for a few years, some people manage to get out after a while and they start to fight against the cult, which is now ruling over the entire world. Some kind of zombies make an appearance as well, just to complete the post-apocalyptic picture.
When it comes to gameplay, the action is very similar to what you may have experienced in series like Sudden Strike or the like, although not as refined. In fact, the game has a lot of technical issues that make it difficult to maneuver your troops around, not to mention the annoying camera that never seems to go where you want it to. However, with enough patience and practice, you can grow accustomed to these flaws.
Because it was released over a decade ago, the visual quality is definitely not something you might find pleasant nowadays. The 3D engine was pretty high-end at the time, on the other hand, so you can at least make use of it to experience the battlefield from any angle. Sound-wise, the music is not exactly bad, but it might get annoying after a while, not to mention repetitive.
All things being equal, Soldiers of Anarchy was probably a lot more attractive when it was first released because it fails to present too much interest nowadays. If given a chance, on the other hand, one can definitely have moderate amounts of fun with the game, especially if you appreciate old-school tactical games.
