Hidden object games are more or less the same. You are presented with a story, you have to find objects and solve some puzzles in order to figure out the plot and complete your main objective.

Shrouded Tales: The Spellbound Land Collector's Edition places you, a young woman, in a fantasy world where your mother is taken away and banished into the Shadow Realm by the Master of Shadows. Now that he has instated his reign of terror, it is up to you to rescue your mother and defeat the evil lord.

The story progresses rather slowly in the beginning and there don't seem to be any major plot twists. Although, chances are that you won’t feel any trace of boredom coming as the graphics and design for the levels are very well done. Each place you enter in search of clues and answers looks great and really help you to immerse yourself into the atmosphere of the story.

Most hidden object games allow the player to choose between multiple degrees of difficulty. Generally there are three modes that allow you to opt for the amount of help and how many hints you receive while playing. Shrouded Tales: The Spellbound Land Collector's Edition allows you to do the same but mostly stands out by providing a series of puzzles within other puzzles.

This not only makes things more challenging, but they also test your memory very well, especially when you're playing in expert mode. Moreover, the puzzles are certainly diversified and keep you interested in the game. They are not necessarily difficult, but they have a creative edge to them.
