Shiftlings Demo

Shiftlings is a puzzle game developed by a studio named Rock Pocket Games and published by a really old and famous publisher named Sierra.

When you get a name like Sierra involved you know that you’re not going to get a bad game. Even if that company is not part of Activision, it’s still around. They are trying to get back up, and one of the ways to do that is to publish really good games. Shiftlings might not be the most popular around, but it certainly fits the criteria for being in cahoots with Sierra. It’s quirky, smart, and interesting.

Puzzle games can be found everywhere, and you can’t open a digital distribution platform without finding some sort of a game that requires players to solve various problems in order to complete a level. With such great number of similar games, you’re going to get a ton of really bad ones and a few gems. Shiftlings is actually one of these gems, but it’s been severely undermarketed.

Shiftlings will surprise you right from the start with the funny dialog and the really good animations that really give life to the characters. You care about them even if they are just two janitors that are really dumb.

One of the two janitors drinks the fizziest drink in the world, and his space suit inflates like a balloon. Since he’s connected to his friend with the hose, the fizz can travel to the suit of his partner. It’s crazy, but it works.

This is what stands at the base of Shiftlings and the entire gameplay. You need to move through the levels, but that’s not all that easy when you can only control one of the characters at once. You can move them like in any other platformer, and you can move the extra air from one character to the other.

The graphics are really good, and the physics engine does its job wonderfully, making Shiftlings an enjoyable experience, to say the least. The demo should be more than enough to convince anyone that it’s a game that’s worth having.
