Sea of Lies: Tide of Treachery Collector's Edition follows the story of a woman who is asked to investigate the criminal sinking of several ships from the Royal Navy. Shortly after she boards a ship for travel, she gets the feeling that who she’s looking for, the Sea Ripper is on board.

In a lot of cases, hidden object games follow a narrative template that makes the stories a bit predictable. With Sea of Lies: Tide of Treachery, it doesn’t feel that way entirely. It could be about treason in love, treasure hunting, or plain old revenge for a bar fight with a pirate.

The game features nicely created environments for you to explore, and use your investigative skills. Playing the game at its hardest level of difficulty is something we recommend you do because that’s the only way the game makes sense. Since in a lot of cases the clue combinations and where you find them are logic elusive, having to look carefully for them makes up for that by a bit.

No one is going to rush you in Sea of Lies: Tide of Treachery. You can take your time to look at a crime scene, take in all the details. It’s one of the genre’s best features. However, little rewards in the form of achievements are offered when you complete a puzzle in a short amount of time.

As for the rest of the gameplay, it’s standard. Click on a clue to grab it, solve some puzzles to open doors or cabinets, collect miscellaneous stuff and get to the bottom of the story.

To end, Sea of Lies: Tide of Treachery is ok as far as hidden object games go. It looks ok, the animations are decent, and the story seems interesting enough.
