Sam and Max 204: Chariots Of The Dogs Demo

The Sam & Max series has been going strong for quite a while now and almost every point-and-click adventure fan is aware of the two famous detectives. Not only that, but some of their friends have stuck around for the entire duration of the series as well, which means that players have an emotional bond with them by now.

Sam and Max 204: Chariots Of The Dogs is the fourth episode in the second season and it revolves around Bosco’s disappearance, which has the two detective moving mountains just to find their pal. They’ve also called on their good friend Detective Paper, who came running when he heard that Bosco might be in trouble and needs his help.

Other than the ridiculous story, nothing much has changed from the previous episodes, mostly because everything worked pretty smoothly already. Hence, the interface is the same flavor of point-and-click, while the gameplay revolves around being able to find the right items and combining them correctly. This way, you can obtain exciting results and crack the case, although do not expect anything too logical when it comes to the puzzles.

The writers managed to come with yet another set of hilarious jokes, puns, and short stories to keep you laughing on a regular basis, although they are just as dark and disturbing as until now. The dialog is sublime as always, with brilliant exchanges between the characters and yet more humor to add on top of the pile. Hence, as far as having a good time is concerned, it can be easily achieved with this episode as well.

Visually, everything is unchanged, except of course for the new environments you get to visit. Other than that, everything looks and feels the same, which is great, considering the fact that this season now supports widescreen resolutions. The same voice actors have reprised their roles, so everything should both look and feel familiar to the fans of the series.

Sam and Max 204: Chariots Of The Dogs may not be the best episode in the franchise, but it is certainly good and it can have you laughing uncontrollably a few times along the way. Hence, if you enjoyed the previous episodes, there shouldn’t be any reason to miss this one either.
