Sacred Almanac: Traces of Greed

Sacred Almanac: Traces of Greed is a hidden object game that proves once more that you can’t have a perfect game emerging from this genre. It looks very good; it plays well but once again, the logic in some moments is poor in execution.

The artwork in Sacred Almanac: Traces of Greed is very solid for a game of this sort. What’s great about it is that the visual blending from the edit enables all the interactive elements and not only, to fit seamlessly into the whole image. This way, it’s a bit more difficult to spot the things you can click on, but mostly, it’s good because it looks good.

The latter is probably Sacred Almanac: Traces of Greed’s best feature, along with the fact that for once there is no narration. I’d say that this was a very good choice since in ninety percent of the cases, the voice acting is seriously underwhelming.

Having to play through a story that takes place in a more realistic world is fairly rare when it comes to hidden object games. Moreover, the story here is a bit more engaging despite some logic flaws. For example, how could a wire cutter not do the job when it comes to cutting down a medallion from a tree? Seriously, what kind of string does it use?

However, despite my insisting on these logic flaws, there are a handful of them to go around, and that won’t hinder the story or gameplay in any way.

To end, Sacred Almanac: Traces of Greed is a nice game to play if you’re into hidden object games, or if you’re looking to spend some hours in a casual manner.
