Rodina

Rodina is a space exploration game played from a first-person perspective in which you'll be able to freely roam throughout a full scale solar system.

In Rodina, the players start for a random asteroid with no actual goal, but as you leave the dark and desolating rock you'll soon discover an entire world of possibilities offered by the multitude of asteroids and full sized planets in your solar system.

After learning the basics of space flight, you can begin to freely roam through space in any direction you want. I suggest heading to the closest asteroids from your location, as each one of them has something to offer and maybe you do find out what's your purpose in this apparently lifeless universe.

The great aspect about all this is that there are no loading screens and you can seamlessly explore the solar system and land on any asteroid or planet you want.

As you explore the vastness of space you will eventually find or receive various messages that will reveal more about what's really happening out there.

Moreover, most of the space rocks are guarded by alien spaceships, but managing to take them down has its rewards, as on their surface you will find weapon caches, messages and even ship upgrades.

For example, you could find an engine upgrade that will allow you to travel much faster across the solar system giving you the possibility to reach distant planets.

Speaking of planets, another cool aspect is the way you can seamlessly fly through their atmosphere upon landing. Be careful though, as a direct approach at full speed might set your ship on fire and destroy it before you manage to land.

If you do land with the ship on fire, you can quickly change to first-person mode grab an extinguisher and try to put out the fire before it destroys your ship entirely.

A great exploration game with a bright future ahead

Rodina is still in active development, but, even at this stage, the game manages to offer a fun and engaging experience that will take on a great journey through a procedurally generated solar system. With lots of new features planned, Rodina will surely become even more appealing thanks to a broader range of possible activities.
