Resident Evil 2 Demo
The horror genre can be approached in a variety of ways, depending on the type of reaction you want to obtain out of the target audience. The same is true in the case of video games as well, since you can opt for action-based gameplay, or scare the player using psychological concepts instead of monsters.
Survive a city full of zombies
Resident Evil 2, on the other hand, tries a combination of the two, by throwing massive numbers of zombies into the mix, together with scary landscapes and an unnerving feeling of helplessness, due to the fact that you are mostly alone in a city full of undead horrors. In addition, it is also rather difficult to find ammo for your guns, which makes you regret every shot you happen to miss.
As far as the story is concerned, the same old Raccoon City is overwhelmed with a horde of zombies, all of which are trying to infect anyone who isn't already. You must find a way to stop the invasion, by playing the role of the police office Leon Kennedy or Claire Redfield, who is the sister of Christ Redfield, the main character from the first installment of the series.
Avoid being bitten and make your way through the horde
Although you are armed, the zombies do not back down, which means that you have to keep shooting until they are down in order to stop them from coming toward you. In case they do start biting you, you can shake them off using the action key, although you still receive some damage and die if you get attacked more than a few times.
It should be mentioned that the game was initially developed for consoles, which means that it can be quite difficult to control with a keyboard. In addition, the camera is also rather tricky to get the hang off and you cannot make use of your mouse at all. It does, however, get easier to control after a few minutes, although it is still not a suitable gameplay style for the computer.
Save Raccoon City from the infection
Although the graphics may be a little rough, the static images depicting the surrounding horrors are very well made, which greatly contributes to the overall feeling of the game. In addition, the fact that you are mostly helpless throughout the missions plays an important role in the overall quality of the horror elements.
