Puzzle games usually feature a variety of ingenious mechanics in order to put your mind to work, whether it's clever riddles to keep you guessing, or actual gameplay gimmicks that need to be used properly to advance. Such is the case with the game at hand, which bets it all on a well-made physics engine to be enough and provide you with plenty of food for thought.

Professor Heinz Wolff's Gravity has a pretty simple at idea at its core, but the execution is good enough to appear as if it is rather revolutionary. Thus, your entire purpose throughout the game is to guide a ball and use a variety of objects in order to press a button on the other side of the level. These objects must be manually placed wherever you see fit and there are practically endless ways you can reach the same result in the end.

Depending on the level, the available inventory includes a variety of miscellaneous objects, such as plain sticks, or skateboards that can be used much more creatively. While it is not always mandatory that you use every available item, it can sometimes be rather tricky to achieve the goal without employing everything at your disposal.

As previously mentioned, none of this would work without the realistic physics engine used by the game, since it is the element that allows you to complete the stage in multiple ways and put your imagination to work. The collision system is also precise and refined, although it could have used a bit more attention when it comes to the larger objects that interact with each other.

One other thing that might pose some difficulty in the beginning is the control of the objects, since it is rather annoying to move them around the environment without rotating them. You can easily topple off your tedious constructions if you do not pay enough attention, given the fact that you have to perform a rather violent mouse movement when you need to move objects between walls.

In the end, Professor Heinz Wolff's Gravity is definitely a title worthy of a shot, especially if you enjoy a challenge and you like putting your mind to work. However, you must also be ready to deal with some design issues, some of which might make it a bit more difficult to enjoy the game in the beginning.
