Mob Rule Demo
The purpose of this captivating strategy game is to take the role of a gangster boss and slowly raise your criminal empire.. #Mob rule #Strategy game #Build empire #Mob #Rule #Mobster
When it comes to organized crime, the mob manages to be a matter of public knowledge, even if they struggle pretty hard to keep their activities secret. However, the mafia does not appear to have too much influence nowadays, certainly not as much as it did have back in the 1920s, when the prohibition acted as the perfect catalyst for the mob to form.
Mob Rule is a tycoon-type game and, despite its name, is actually part of the Constructor series, since it is a sequel to the original Constructor release. However, the theme was changed entirely in this episode, while the mechanics and the interface remained largely the same. This release is far more relaxed and cartoon-ish, thanks to the casual atmosphere and the humorous missions you have to tackle.
To start off with, you play the role of a new guy who wants to be made, which means that you are up for anything in order to get your stripes. In order to reach the top and become one of the family members, you must prove your worth by pleasing the godfather, although the scenarios are not actually that serious at all. In essence, you just have to build stuff and make money, while also staying within the godfather’s specifications.
Things get pretty hectic soon enough, on the other hand, because the difficulty level quickly increases after the first few missions and you really have to put some effort into it if you are to be successful. The rewards are worth it only if you enjoy knowing that you beat the game, because there’s only more of the same coming. There is only the story mode to play around with, so the missions end after a certain point and you have to take it from the top.
Visually, the isometric point of view means that you get to view the city from a top-down perspective, which is just as well, considering the fact that you have to scour from one corner to the other and tackle various problems. Bribes, murders and general mischief are always part of the equation, but a coat of humor is painted over them, in order to make you more comfortable.
While it may be rather difficult for anyone to enjoy the game nowadays, Mob Rule does have a few interesting elements to it, some of which you may not be able to find in anything modern. Hence, if you do not mind the small resolutions you have to deal with and the clunky interface, then Mob Rule can be a good choice.
