Might & Magic: Heroes VI Demo

Might & Magic: Heroes VI, a take on the classic turn-based strategy games in the same series, marking a return to the roots for the franchise.

The community still thinks that Might & Magic: Heroes III is still the best version ever released, but only when considered along with the add-on. Surpassing the memory of that game, which is strengthened by melancholy, is a difficult task. The developer from Blackhole tried to return to the roots of the franchise, and they hit a lot of high notes. Unfortunately, not everyone in the community feels the same way.

Might & Magic: Heroes VI is a modern take on the gameplay that made the third version great, but it wasn’t enough to gain the trust of the older players. It’s not a bad game, but it’s not the best it could have been, and that got a lot of people upset.

Might & Magic: Heroes VI tries to follow in the footsteps of HOMM III, and it feels that way for the first few minutes, or even more. Slowly you start to realize that something is amiss. First of all, the performance of the game is terrible, even on powerful machines, which is just shameful for such a large game.

Secondly, the gameplay might seem familiar at first, and it’s pretty much what you would expect from this genre, but the battles don’t make a lot of sense. The AI is not all that great, and it’s just focused on doing damage to long range units when it should be concerned about units that do a lot of damage. This is just an example.

One you understand that archers are seen as cannon fodder, you will find that most battles are not all that difficult to overcome.

The Might & Magic: Heroes VI demo is not long and only has a couple of story missions. It’s not connected online, so not all the features are present, and it doesn’t require Uplay. In fact, the permanent online connection has been one of the issued that have been mentioned by the community over and over again.
