MegaSphere Demo
A sci-fi action platformer that takes you deep into a fascinating structure that constantly reconstructs itself. #Mega Sphere #Sci-fi platformer #Action platformer #Platformer #Sci-fi #Action
Beautiful visual style and a captivating atmosphere, those are the initial thoughts that might run through your mind when you run MegaSphere for the first time. A few minutes into the game and you know it’s going to be better than most sci-fi action platformers you’ve played in the last year.
One thing is clear, MegaSphere operates on a massive scale. One of the game’s features is that the world you’re in changes every time you enter it. On top of that add the fact that the game features an excellently designed world that’s full of interesting futuristic concepts for tech, AI and much more.
You can’t build a 2D pixel art game that sports a retro vibe without having 80s style synth tunes, and in this one, they’re short of being perfect. Colorful neon tones, patches of dim light in dark corners of a mysterious gigantic ship, hostile and unpredictable AI, secrets, MegaSphere has more than enough to generate and surround you with a great ambiance that simply pushes you forward into exploring and fighting.
One thing I particularly appreciate about MegaSphere is that it won’t tell you what you have to do. Neither does it hint about how your character should or will work like in the future if you do this and that. As you make your way through the mechanical world, things become clearer in a way, but there will be plenty of stuff to that gets your attention; such as the accurate representation and use of physics-based mechanics.
ATAI, the main character, can loot fallen enemies and uncover various types of upgrades for his weapon and combat suit. All of which look good and put more emphasis on dynamic gameplay. As for the AI controlled enemies, it’s a love/hate relationship. Some of them are a bit too annoying, others are fragile and dumbed down but killing each of them is fun.
Without a doubt, MegaSphere is worth having if the features you like in a game are great graphics, an immersive atmosphere, well-polished gameplay mechanics and the thrills of exploration and discovery.
