Lovely Planet

Lovely Planet is probably one of the most colorful and harmless looking first-person shooters you'll ever get to see. It’s just adorable with its low-poly graphics and design that seems to have been put together by a team of very joyful people who bake gingerbread fantasy worlds in their spare time.

In this game, you have to run around shooting polygon-based things that are alive and for some strange reason want to stop you from getting to Lovely Planet. They either stand still and frown upon you or shoot pink cubes that hurt.

Lovely Planet is comprised out of multiple levels that you have to finish as fast as you can. It’s not mandatory but it is preferable. You see, this might be the cutest shooter with run and gun gameplay, since ever.

Since you have unlimited ammo, you just push onward, shooting at will and doing your best to eliminate the enemy as you charge. However, you need to hurry up with caution because one little hit and you restart the level. It can be annoying, but that’s how gaming perfectionists are created.

Lovely Planet looks like it’s made by fluffy kittens but the challenge is real. The gameplay is not punishing but it does have its fair share of tough moments and level restarts will occur quite often. The bright side is that this game is so colorful and full of pink hearts that you can’t stay mad at it. You just can’t.

Visually, Lovely Planet is probably what dreams look like for 5-year-olds. As a game, it runs very smooth and thanks to its polygonal design, it will work perfectly on just about any hardware.

To wrap it up, writing cliche incoming, Lovely Planet is lovely. It truly is with its whimsical design, casual yet challenging gameplay and everything else that goes into it.
