In fact, there are many legends and myths surrounding various creature that make a habit out of causing shipwrecks.

Lost Lands: The Wanderer is a hidden object adventure game in which you play the role of an investigator trying to unravel the mystery of a ghost ship that scares sailors all over the world. In essence, the game appears to be a regular HOPA, but after you play it for a few minutes you realize that it’s a bit tougher than that, especially when it comes to the puzzles you have to tackle.

It all revolves around the Lost Lands, where pirates are dwelling and returning with their ill-gotten booty. However, even they are scared of the ghost ship that roams the sea, given the fact that it’s usually accompanied by a giant octopus and a sorceress. Susan is the main character, and she decides to help with the matter after she comes across a pirate chest with a strange compass.

As mentioned before, the puzzles see to be a tad tougher than in most hidden object games out there, given the fact that they are not as straightforward. In essence, you still have to uncover patterns, but they are much harder to spot here than in other games. On top of that, sometimes it’s also quite difficult to understand what your goal is.

Good things can be said about the graphics as well, but don’t expect fully-3D environments or anything of the sort, since this is still a budget game. Thus, the static artwork is definitely gorgeous and full of detail, but it’s also a bit repetitive. Thankfully, at least the music and the voice acting are decent, at least for this type of game and considering the budget it had to work with.

When it’s all said and done, Lost Lands: The Wanderer is a very polished adventure game, especially when it comes to the puzzles and the mysteries you have to tackle.
