As the name suggest, Line Of Defense Tactics - Tactical Advantage is a game about tactics. The developers wanted users to know this, so they put it twice in the name. Is this a tactical game? Most of the time it involves some kind of tactical decision, but that’s true for many if the strategy games that you can play.

Just because you say it twice doesn’t mean that it’s true, but to be fair this is the aim of the developers. If they managed to pull it off, it remains to be seen. Line Of Defense Tactics - Tactical Advantage feels more like an attempt at doing something new and unique, only to fall short of its goal.

Developers say that Line Of Defense Tactics - Tactical Advantage is based on the Line Of Defense MMO, but don’t feel bad if you haven’t heard about this MMO until now. It’s not all that popular.

In any case, they felt that it was established enough to make another game based on it, and this how this iteration was born. We have to say right from the start that the game has a lot of potential, and that it has the right ideas behind it. Unfortunately, the final implementation of those ideas is poor, and it could have been done a lot better.

The idea is that you control a team in various environments, with enemies and goals that need to be taken care off. You move your team from cover to cover, either by clicking on the place they need to reach or by dragging a line with the mouse. Various other actions are available from the right-click menu.

Most of the time you’re going to be settings up ambushes, so getting to cover is really important. It doesn’t protect you completely from damage, but it helps. You can pause the game, but the controls are really awkward and not all that intuitive.

The animations are sloppy, the characters don’t adjust to the environment and stand when they should be kneeling, and the overall quality of the game is not up to par.
