LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures Demo

Indiana Jones is one of the most representative action heroes to come out of Hollywood, thanks to his adventurous spirit, impressive wits and the general lack of respect for authority. His trademark hat and whip are as recognizable as Batman's cape, not to mention his various companions that join him throughout some of the adventures.

LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures is part of the LEGO game series and it brings the famous Indy into the spotlight this time around, complete with the whip and the boulder chasing him down narrow corridors. As the name clearly implies, the game encompasses events from the first three movies, which are also classified as being the original adventures and the most enjoyable episodes.

In case you haven't played any of the other LEGO games, you should know that the main purpose is for you to have fun, which is why most of the gameplay is incredibly witty and humorous. The characters are portrayed as tiny little LEGO figurines, while the environment is mostly designed using the very same colorful bricks. This also means that some of the environment can be destroyed or rearranged by you, in order to unlock certain bonuses or solve various puzzles.

The game is heavily co-op oriented as well, which means that most of time you have a companion joining you in your adventures. You can easily switch between them with the press of a button, but it can be much more fun if you play it with someone else and share the experience. Moreover, over the course of the story, over fifty other characters can be unlocked and used in action, which diversifies the gameplay a lot and offers the game great replayability value.

Visually, the environments, Indy and his friends are very well reproduced to resemble LEGO pieces, in order to put a smile on your face with every occasion. The animations are also funny and quite nicely done, as are the particle effects that come into play whenever something exciting is happening on the screen. Thus, from a technical point of view, everything has been taken care of and you shouldn't find any major issues in this regard.

In the end, LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures is about as fun and exciting as advertised, even more so if you happen to be a big fan of Indy and his exploits. The story is intriguing, the characters are enjoyable and the missions certainly bring back memories, while also being amusing and cleverly designed.
