While young children should definitely not be allowed for too long in front of the computer, technology plays an important role in today’s lifestyle, so it’s vital for youngsters to know their way around one. On the other hand, it can be quite difficult to initiate someone into computers using Excel or some programming language when there are far more appropriate alternatives.
KidsMouse is a simple, yet comprehensive collection of mini-games designed to help your kids have fun and learn a few things along the way, including the alphabet and a few basic number operations. However, all of this is coated in a thick layer of bright colors, which make the experience extremely enjoyable for the impressionable audience.
In essence, all the games aim to teach the children something while having fun, although the lessons are not very complicated. Thus, whether it’s a basic ‘match the shapes’ challenge or a simple coloring game, everything is designed to be both fun and educational at the same time. Not only that, but the interface lacks almost any kind of written text, and it uses drawings to explain the button functions.
Another pleasant thing about the application is that the children are congratulated and rewarded with cute pictures of animals whenever they manage to get the correct answer. Thus, this should serve as a good enough incentive for the players to do their best, although the actual challenges are enjoyable as well. There is even a coloring book mini-game, which doesn’t teach the children an awful lot, but it allows them to use a variety of colors as they see fit.
As previously mentioned, the application features an incredibly simple user interface, which can truly be operated by anyone out there. The game supports a wide array of resolutions without getting stretched or pixelated, which is always nice to see. However, don’t expect too much depth when it comes to the actual mini-games.
When it’s all said and done, KidsMouse does indeed pack a solid number of features, all of which work nicely together to provide your kids with a bit of fun and education at the same time. Hence, this can be a healthy way to let them enjoy the computer for a while, as long as they don’t abuse it.
