Jewel Match 2: Reloaded
A casually delightful match three game that features nice gems, castle building a few extra things. #Match three #Puzzle game #Build castle #Jewel #Match3 #Match
There’s something inherently wrong with those of us who can’t start playing a match three game and not leave it alone after an hour or so. It’s that simple formula for game logic and mechanics that feed the sensation of satisfaction for doing something, even when it’s as easy as matching three things of the same kind.
Jewel Match 2: Reloaded isn’t much of an improvement in the genre or on its own. It does look nice; I’ll give it that. The gems actually come very close to resembling precious stones.
At its core, Jewel Match 2: Reloaded is the standard match three game. You have a board that varies in form with each new level; you need to combine the pieces, and if it’s good, they disappear. It’s as simple as that, and if you have a weak spot for this kind of no-brainer games, you won’t be able to stay away until you finish it.
A thing that’s particularly difficult in match three games is to keep the players going with more than just combining gems. In this case, the gems you match and the score you get enable you to buy pieces of a castle. There are nine of them to build and once you get started, again, it’s hard to stop.
Apart from that little feature, you also get to buy various power-ups that help out, and there are a series of mini-games that can be played to increase your score and change the setting a bit.
To end, Jewel Match 2: Reloaded is standard for the match three genre. There’s nothing exceptional about it in terms of design and gameplay, but both of them are nice; the soundtrack and audio effects even more so. It’s a good choice for the match three fan who wants a classic game of this kind.
