Hysteria Hospital: Emergency Ward Demo

Hospitals may not be the kind of place you want to visit, but they are obviously necessary and someone needs to look after them. Emergencies need to be treated as such, because every second counts when lives hang in the balance. Because of this, hospitals need to be prepared to receive patients as quickly as possible, while also finding out everything they can about their condition in the meantime.

Hysteria Hospital: Emergency Ward is a simple game in which you play the role of a nurse and you must make sure that the entire hospital is running as efficiently as possible. Not only that, but you must also manage to turn a profit in the end, because even hospitals need money in order to function, pay the bills, and purchase new equipment to better serve the patients.

The gameplay is quite basic and you do not really have to do much, other than click on objects and make sure that you fit into the time limit. As such, the patients usually require various papers, or they need to be sent to a specific section in order to be treated. The time factor is important, because you get penalized if you take too long to complete various actions.

Along the way, you get to visit multiple hospitals as well, each one of which has different requirements and presents you with a different challenge. Whether it’s larger receiving areas, or more problems that need to be fixed when it comes to finance, the missions get increasingly more difficult as you manage to complete them.

Visually, the bright colors make disease and hospitals look rather cozy and dreamy, although you should not expect anything too great. The characters are pretty nicely modeled and the environments are not bad, but the patient models are way too repetitive sometimes and you might end up quitting early. The same goes for the sound department, because the music can get annoying after a short while.

Hysteria Hospital: Emergency Ward may not win any prizes, but it can certainly be a good choice for small children, or very bored adults. Obviously, the lack of depth and the absence of challenge will quickly turn everyone away, but you might squeeze an hour of gameplay out of it.
