Grim Facade: Hidden Sins

Yet again, you’re a detective who is called to investigate a crime that might lead to something bigger. The wife of a mayor has been kidnaped and it’s up to you to capture the masked man called the Avenger who has set fear into the folks of Coldstone.

Like in most hidden object games, Grim Facade: Hidden Sins leaves you alone in a strange place right from the start. If you have a thing where games need to follow at least basic logic, this one doesn’t start like that. After you receive a short introduction to the plot, you start to collect items without them making any sense.

It’s the only real setback or deal breaker with games like this in general. This one, in particular, starts a bit left-handed, but it does get better as you progress into the story. Moreover, it’s nice to see that some objects you find have more than one use, it gets you thinking a bit more.

Grim Facade: Hidden Sins features some puzzles that are kind of standard for the genre, but they look different. Most of the time you’ll solve them on the first go that is not necessarily bad but if you need a real challenge, you might as well turn the Hint function off.

Since the storyline revolves around a mysterious kidnapping and a list with potential future targets, the atmosphere needs to be tense, and it is. Grim Facade: Hidden Sins features a good ambiance in which a plot like this one is worth unraveling.

On a closing note, Grim Facade: Hidden Sins is a decent game to come out for the hidden object fans. The gameplay is the same as it is in every one, but at least the story is different.
