Flowers may not last for very long when given as a bouquet to someone, but that doesn’t seem to stop people from doing it all the time. Hence, flower shops are quite successful and diverse, even though it’s not very simple to take care of one. Besides the fact that some flowers only come out during certain seasons, someone must also take care of the actual customers.

Garden Shop is a time management game that allows you to be in charge of a flower shop and see what it takes to run it day after day. As such, your primary task is to take the customer orders and deliver them to the counter, complete with a variety of additional requests, such as colorful pots. Naturally, you need to meet a minimum quota every day, otherwise you have to restart the level.

The game features flowers from each season, and the levels even follow a certain story. Hence, your character’s name is Chloe and she is on a mission to make her shop the most popular in town. By decorating her flowers the best way she knows how, more and more customers are going to pass the threshold of the shop. Obviously, this translates into more money, which allows you to expand.

The money you receive after each mission can be used to purchase upgrades, such as more space for the customers to sit in line, a coffee maker to provide Chloe with a boost every now and again, or a variety of other useful items. Each one of these costs a significant sum of money, not to mention the fact that some can even be upgraded multiple times.

As far as the visual quality and the general gameplay mechanics are concerned, all you need is a mouse with a working left-click button in order to play the game. The graphics are not exactly bad, but it gets frustrating to see the same five or six customer models level after level. The selection of plants is not as huge as it could be either, but it’s definitely decent.

Garden Shop certainly doesn’t impress in any way, since it’s nothing but a dry time management game, but the fans of the genre should find a challenge in it. Not only that, but the difficulty level has the potential to keep you on edge sometimes.
