Full Contact Debate 1.0

This year millions of people will vote in the upcoming Presidential election. This year millions of people will also play video games. The question is will the millions of people playing video games also be voting in the Presidential election or will they be too busy laughing at Leeroy Jenkins to care who Mike Huckabee is?

Full Contact Debate is an interactive political cartoon and a gamers' game. Debate typically involves a bunch of stuffy old men bickering in a room rife with the scent of self-importance. Gameplay typically involves a bunch of 18-34 year old dudes shooting each other online while either breathing heavily or cursing into a head-mounted microphone in a bunch of rooms scattered across the globe rife with the scent of dirty laundry. Both groups have a similar goal, which involves bending opponents to their will. There is of course one stark contrast. The stuffy old men (and women) usually bicker for a real cause while the 18-34 year old dudes (and ladies too) are usually shooting each other for... and giggles.

That's where Full Contact Debate comes in. Now you can still shoot at a bunch of other 18-34 year old dudes (and ladies too) for ----- and giggles while sniffing your dirty laundry but you can also get involved in a real cause. As the Presidential race progresses so will Full Contact Debate. Polls and campaign contributions are updated in real time representing all the action in the game. Updates including new maps, weapons, candidates, and secrets will also be delivered as the race heats up. How will you represent your cause?

Limitations:

·Windows Firewall can cause crashes if the game isn't exempted. A joining player can still play the game but eventually (typically on mission cycles) the joiner's firewall causes the server to crash.

·Xinput (Xbox 360 Control) has some issues with the anlog sticks not responding. Typically this results in the vehicles not feeling like they have any brakes or in characters running slow. Simply releasing the analog and then going back to it will reset it and let you continue on. We're working to fix this issue.

·Player Animations aren't perfect we used a rig that satisfied everything we needed in terms of gameplay and are working on a solution that looks better.

·No Dedicated servers, we'll resolve this soon although we don't expect it to be much of an issue. It's a small matter of some code shuffling to get this going.
