FrightShow Fighter Demo

FrightShow Fighter is a bizarre fighting game with really weird characters developed and published by a studio named 3 Fright.

Fighting games are not easy to build because they usually require developers that can properly animate the characters. This is an important part of the process because it’s a game in which two characters are facing each other, they interact, and eyes of the player are always focusing on them. It’s important to get things right in this department.

On the other hand, another tool used by the developers of fighting games is to make them as strange as possible. They can try to build a proper physics engine, with all the correct interactions, or they can build something that’s so outlandish that the users don’t even take a closer look at the graphics or models. It’s a gamble, and it doesn’t always work.

Since FrightShow Fighter is still under development, it’s hard to say what the final quality will be, but it’s possible that it won’t change all that much. For now, it’s a weird game with funky controls and strange characters and nothing more.

In the demo, players can choose from two different characters, a little girl and a tall rabbit, each with their own abilities. The rabbit, for example, shoots a white beam of energy from his mouth, so that’s something.

I could get to do too much during the fight because the characters don’t seem to respond too well to commands. The game has controller support, but it’s not great.

Users will also notice the funky artwork that’s being used, not to mention the design of the characters themselves. Some might like it, other not so much, but this might be a subjective area.

From what the developers from 3 Fright have explained, players will be able to upgrade their fighters after winning a game, which is an interesting mechanic, to say the least.

FrightShow Fighter might be an interesting game when the full game lands, but until then you can get the demo and see if you like the strange artwork.
