Five Nights at Freddy's 4 Demo
Another chapter in the Five Nights at Freddy's series, and this time you play the role of a child. #Survive Freddy #Freddy Fazbear #Survive the night #Freddy #Fazbear #Five
What can be said about Five Nights at Freddy's that you don’t already know? In short, it’s one heck of an idea for a horror game that relies on jump scares and thrives on its players stressing out until their palms start to sweat.
Five Nights at Freddy's 4 leaves the impression that Scott Cawthon is stretching it a bit too much, but then again some said that about the second and third chapters. And here we are, playing chapter four, and it got even more interesting. There’s no pizzeria; it’s just you, a little child, trapped in his room, under terror assault by Freddy Fazbear, Chica, Bonnie, and Foxy.
You’re a kid trapped in your room, and you have to survive five days until the party. Let’s just assume that that party takes place at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza if you make it out alive. That might not be the plot twist, but it makes sense; either way, you won’t have time to think about that because you’ll be as tense as the past, present and future.
As for the mechanics and gameplay, they should be familiar to you by now. There are two doors that lead to you, one closet right in front of your bed, and the bed under which you never know what lies. This time around there are no surveillance cameras to watch, not even a nanny cam; you’ll just have to focus on picking up strange noises.
Yep, the developer, has thought of a very simple and fantastic way of totally getting in your head. Sounds that are conjured in our minds, especially at night, in any scenario, always mess with us and in Five Nights at Freddy's 4 that fact is taken to a new level. You know something bad is constantly waiting to happen and confused by the soundtrack and sound effects, you’ll forcefully confuse yourself about what you hear. Good stuff, very good stuff.
To survive, you’ll have to listen carefully to see if you hear breathing outside of your door, in your room or right behind you, where the bed is. This gameplay mechanic is wonderful because the sound effects are made to be subtle, which in turn makes you turn up the volume so you can hear better, and when that jumpscare comes, your ears will explode.
Most of the time you’ll be facing the doors and closet but behind you, on your bed, there is a Freddy teddy bear that’s as cute as it is creepy. You can’t trust it but feel free to click his nose.
In all honesty, Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 is a lot better than the others for several reasons. It’s a subjective opinion because most that are related to games are. However, after you play the demo, there’s no denying that some things have improved and the buildup to the scares is a lot better since it’s easier for the killer bunch to sneak up on you, and you feel totally defenseless.
NOTE: There is a bit of an issue with the fullscreen option, the resolution is low and the default fullscreen will leave you with a distorted aspect ratio. Press ALT+ENTER (return) to switch it to window mode. Then click the Maximize button to go fullscreen.
