Final Days Demo
Survive the zombie apocalypse and try to work together with other players in order to kill as many undead as possible. #Top-down shooter #Zombie shooter #Zombie survival #Zombie #Survive #Survival
There’s certainly no shortage of zombie games out there, considering the fact that every other release features at least some kind of undead creature. However, not all of them are worthwhile, especially since it also depends on your preferences and whether you enjoy raw action, survival, or just mindless fun. Even so, there’s always room for improvement, regardless of how many games are trying to occupy the same niche.
Final Days is a top-down shooter in which zombies and multiplayer are the main elements. As such, it may be just a basic action game when it comes to the gameplay mechanics, but the fact that you can enjoy the mayhem with other people on the same map is quite the attractive prospect. Granted, it has been done before in many other games, but that shouldn’t stop you from giving it a go.
In case you are not ready to join the online slaughter, you can get familiar with the controls and the general gameplay in single player. There’s no campaign as of right now, but the survival mode can put serious strain on your skills as a sharpshooter. Speaking of which, the aiming is done using the mouse, although it’s obviously pretty different from the one in first-person shooters.
Another thing that should make the experience more exciting is the fact that you can enjoy it in different game modes, depending on what you are in the mood for. However, most of them resume to defending a position from incoming undead attacks. Besides that, there’s also the hardcore survival mode, in which you have to slay wave after wave of enemies and survive for as long as possible.
Given the top-down perspective, you should obviously lower your expectations when it comes to the graphics and the other technical stuff. The engine is 2D, as you might expect, but the graphics are pretty basic even so. It’s also quite dark all the time, which is not a really bad thing considering the low-quality environments. Thankfully, you’ll be too busy shooting zombies to notice such details.
All things considered, Final Days is not quite there yet, but it can get a lot better in the meantime. As long as the gameplay does not get repetitive too quickly and more game modes are added, this could be a pretty nice distraction for those who need it.
